People coming up the steps to the Church of Christ at Mesochori for the Resurrection (Anastasis) celebration (33kb) A few minutes before midnight: The priest is about to proclaim 'Christos Anesti' (Christ has risen) , the youngster is ready to ring the bell and some more on the left are about to light the fire to burn Judas 'Christos Anesti', and the fire is about to engulf Judas that is hanging just outside the church (77kb)
The fire and the bell ringing is too much for the priest who retires in the church to continue with the Easter liturgy (96kb) The people start heading home celebratory meal for the breaking of the fast (49kb) But the fire is still burning fierce and will go on for awhile (51kb)
And an other Judas is waiting at the public car park next to the church (81kb) Next day in the afternoon the young ones of Ombrosyalos are waiting for their turn for the second resurrection liturgy at the church of Agios Panteleimon and Agios Nikolaos to show their style (84kb) And soon he also goes on fire as the priest says 'Christos Anesti' to the cries of the young ones 'Our fire is bigger'! (79kb)
Next day, St George's day celebration at the small church near the harbour (105kb) With plenty  of boiled lamb, church bread and red wine for all after the liturgy at 10 am! (107kb) 'Chronia polla' for the two Georges (the second partly obscured) with Giannis and the priest (98kb)
